and i just can't stop wondering if 150 years ago this really was a good look? balding around the forehead plus beard underneath the chin. some kind of furry frame around a round farmer face.
but i don't want to sound too superficial. i also dislike ivar for having invented nynorsk because in comparison to "normal" norwegian i find it highly cryptical and it takes me forever to decipher it.
noko, ikkje, enno, korleis... why did you do that, ivar? well, i guess i will find out as i read on. tbc.
EDIT:
Alright, i realised this beard fashion must have been some kind of trend in 19th century norway. maybe not only norway though, maybe scandinavia or even europe? i will have to watch this!
Anyways, as i read on in this book, i learnt about the norwegian Grimm bros Asbjørnsen and Moe. Asbjørnsen also features this really awful looking facial scarf.

right now i'm doing some studying on the linguistic situation of norway in the 19th century which is the key period to norway's weird bilingualism. i'm not even sure you could call that bilingualism. but anyways, one of the most important people in this time and that place is a guy called ivar aasen. and he looked like this.
