real life, lesson one:

  • unlike your mother, your teachers or your pilates conductor kept telling you, in real life, it's often the quantity that counts, not the quality.

The dream of the 90s is alive in Portland. Uh ah, gotta go! Well, maybe not quite to Portland. Although this is one of the very few places in the US of A that I'd actually like to go to, because a) there is a mountain!

and b) they have rain and small cafés.

Plus c) everyone seems to be super relaxed there, they sleep in long, they don't have a real job, they live their dreams if they have one. Slacker nation.
But before I go, I'd rather watch that new comedy show Portlandia which draws the viewers into the absurd and ever so funny world of Portland, Oregon, where you can be 'content to be unambitious, sleep 'til 11, have no occupation what so ever and work a few hours a week in a coffee shop.'

Well, this description sounds a little familiar. And I'm afraid, that mythical place Portland might be nothing else than just another version of Berlin-Prenzlauer Berg. Because... well, the name suggests, that there must be a mountain somewhere in that area, and... looking out of the window, I can tell: There is RAIN!
