the.new.seriousness

I promised I would constantly love you
Until the day I die [...]
But nothing lasts forever
So instead I'll take my life

Just HOW post-ironic can you be? This new generation (born late 80s/early 90s) is soooo incredibly serious. Not just in love, but in everything. Seems like they really know what they want in their lives, both love- and careerwise. A generation of achievers. For me, a late-born slacker, it feels weird and a bit painful (in every understanding of that word) to watch. I'm waiting for them to crash. But maybe they never will.

These words were inspired by I Blame Coco, that girl who I thought was a boy, who copied The Police (again! The Police, where are the connections to that revival? I don't know, I'm too young). But then, it turned out she's a girl with a deep voice and on top of that Sting's daughter (born 1990 - nineteenninety!!!). So at least kinda found the constant there.
And that's maybe why her album is called "The Constant".
Or maybe she just watched too much Lost.
